We are conceived in mystery to walk a narrow path: doubt on the one side, wonder on the other, faith which sustains and reason which guides. In gathering as a religion, we support one another, challenge one another, learn from one another, help one another remember what is too easy to forget.

We walk through a crossroads in time. All the cataclysms of the past have been but a prelude to this moment. And from this moment spring all the wonders of the future. Let us be mindful what we do right now, because so very much depends on it.

We gather in faith that life is a good thing, that each life makes a difference, that life is a gift to be received in gratitude and reverently passed on. We gather in faith that in this place we will receive something worth keeping. We gather in faith that in mindful togetherness we will share what is worthy in ourselves, and receive back what it worthy in others. In this time of faith let us see, let us listen, let us sing from the bottoms of our hearts.”

A peek beneath the surface reveals a transforming mystery. It lies in the teeming multitudes of a mud puddle, the sheen of a fossilized bone, the wink of the farthest star. Each mystery is a treasure to cherish, a doorway to enlightenment, a song born softly to the ears of those inquisitive enough to listen. Listen. Listen. We may hear the roar of distant waters. We may hear the tiptoe of angels dancing.

We are a community of active minds and seeking hearts. Where such as us gather, diverse opinions rise with passion and go forth with ferver. Let us be present to one another in heart and mind, in word and spirit: reflectively, peacefully, honestly, lovingly. Let us be with one another in awareness, receptiveness, and humility, not just between ourselves but with the greatness around us.
