This song was a birthday present for my better half, Kate. Waited a long time—full of appreciation—for a late-in-life love.
This is Judith’s leitmotif from my play, “Servetus.” Judith is caustic, sarcastic, bitter–but inside harbors a deep and powerful soul. She sings this song when she meets Desiderius Erasmus, the Renaissance scholar. (That’s the “scholarly glow” she’s talking about.)
Practicing the title song from my play, “Servetus: the Radical Reformed Musical.” This is a tricky piece to sing. That top-of-the-head belongs to Edrie Martin, who was really helpful in figuring this thing out–in addition to tickling the ivories.
