May we bask in the goodness of life and the worthiness of our fellow human beings. May we rejoice in labors of love which bring forth the fruits of useful living. May we seek and create an ordered and righteous church and society, furthering the desserts of all: seeding and harvesting the best hope of human destiny.

From cares that fret the soul, burdens that weigh heavy, voices that distract, we come to this house of clear reflection. Here may the noises of the outer world be muted, that we may lift our thoughts and contemplate the Oneness that is all of us. Let us be grateful in the presence of one another’s Love. Let us listen with the ears of our hearts for music and wisdom which only an open heart may hear.

May we go forth in renewed strength and profound vitality. May reverent spirit continually unfurl within us. May we bless ourselves and one another with truth, love, commitment, and inner peace which no one can take away.

Let us greet each dawn and each sunset as gifts to be opened. Let us humbly do our best in realization that our actions shape destinies no seer can foretell. May we work toward a world where each following generation can find their task easier rather than more difficult.

We go into the world, each bearing our all-too-human mixture of gifts: love, fear, hope, anger, wonder, determination. Let us create our world as we go, in the knowledge that the work will always remain incomplete. Let us throw our spirits to the universe, joyful that the gift will always be received in ways we never could have expected.

We are limitless and finite. We house worlds and universes within each organ of our bodies, yet look out on vastness so much greater than us, we barely begin to measure it. Let us love what we do not know, reach for what we may never attain, and joyfully birth a future we cannot describe. For the dust of each step engenders gifts we do not yet imagine.
