Each time we close out our reflective time together and return to the wider world, may each of us carry with us a piece of what we gathered. Be it a smile, a piece of a song, a fractal from the warm glow we created in our mutuality, the tiniest spark grows ever greater through sharing.

May our eyes behold the good things of the world and may we be blessed, enlightened, and filled with appreciation. May music delight us and the company of friends and loved ones keep us warm. May we not post ourselves in one place like trees, but always remember to dance. May each day bring at least one chance to learn something new and at least one opportunity to laugh.

May we face the future not as a question which demands a correct answer, but rather as a gift which asks only to be received and inhabited. The world awaits us. Our best is good enough. Tears and laughter are handy tools. Each person deserves to be challenged sometimes and loved always.

Let us share the gifts we have to share. Let us accept the gifts of others, gratefully and without judgment. Let us take the cup of life and drink, in cognizance of all those who share life’s cup. Let us lift our eyes to the multitudes who have been, who are, and who have yet to be. And let us not forget that what we deserve, others deserve also.

What is faith? Faith is not more than the resolve to persevere when there is no apparent chance of victory–which is very often the case. What is victory, then? Victory lies in some future generation looking back and shaking their heads at how misguided and outlandish were the injustices people took for granted in our day.”

May love and light and warmth hold us close.
May we go forth in light that drives out darkness,
In love that drives out hate,
In honesty and insight that drive out ignorance,
To struggle and become new in the face of the future.
Love these thank you.
